In Nonfiction Writing I, we'll study the art of the essay, the nonfiction novel, the memoir, the magazine story, and the unclassifiable. Workshops of your own work will be supplemented by craft exercises and discussions. Students should have some prior workshop experience, either through Berlin Writers' Workshop (Creative Writing I) or a similar organization. A writing sample may be required.
