In addition to teaching classes, the Berlin Writers' Workshop's faculty members are available to consult on your creative projects, including novels, memoirs, collections of stories or essays, book-length nonfiction works, or screenplays. We'll meet you in one-on-one sessions to provide written and oral feedback on one or multiple drafts. We'll tell you what your project needs before you send it out.
How it works
Our standard consulting service includes line edits, a detailed letter describing proposed structural revisions, edits, and generative suggestions (what we call a "workshop letter"), and an in-person or Skype meeting. Our rate for that kind of consultation is €10/page for standard-format prose (12-point Times New Roman font, 1" margins, double-spaced). The minimum price for stories or chapters under 20 pages is €200. If you would like an ongoing relationship with an editor (looking at subsequent chapters or successive revisions) or to request a particular faculty member, we are happy to work something out.
We also offer one-hour consultations on stories or chapters up to 25 pages with no written feedback for €100. For more material, we can work out a special rate. Sign up on our contact page or by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org.
